Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu and the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fubara said he was supporting the coalition because the period of political conflict in the state was over and it was time to embrace peace.

The governor made the declaration in a video shared on X, where he also announced his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Rivers State, Kingsley Chinda.

“We have made peace in the state, and I am supporting the Rainbow Coalition. President Bola Tinubu is our president, and he is the one we are supporting,” Fubara said.

He urged his supporters to back Chinda, saying anyone who believed in him should also support the governorship candidate.

“Chinda is the governorship candidate that I am supporting, and everybody who believes in me will support,” he said.

Fubara also dismissed suggestions that his supporters needed to collect anything before backing the coalition. He said he had returned to his political family and urged his followers across the state to give the coalition their full support.

According to the governor, Rivers State must move forward after the political crisis that had affected the state.

“We need to move forward. The time of war is over. This is the time of peace, and this peace is taking us to another level,” he said.

Fubara further warned his supporters against claiming that he was seeking personal political support, insisting that his position on the coalition was clear.

He said he would not support any political move that could create problems for Rivers State.

“I have done what I need to do, and for now, we are moving forward,” the governor added.
