Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to lead a Nigeria-Ethiopia exchange on improving nutrition delivery.
Shettima is attending the forum at the invitation of Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Temesgen Tiruneh, who is championing the country’s multisectoral approach to nutrition.
Vice President Kashim ShettimaThe visit will feature the inaugural Nigeria-Ethiopia Nutrition Leadership Exchange Visit, which is expected to bring Nigerian and Ethiopian officials together to share experiences on government-led approaches to nutrition.
The Nigerian delegation will examine how Ethiopia’s approach has strengthened nutrition delivery across federal, state and local levels.
As part of the visit, the delegation is scheduled to tour a wheat farm and banana plantation in Oromia, the ‘Bounty of the Basket’ Training Centre and households in Mojo, as well as Jabdu Motors in Bishoftu.
Shettima was accompanied by Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State and Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi.
Others on the delegation are the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari; and the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mrs. Zubaida Umar Abubakar.
