The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has dismissed reports that its Oyo State governorship and deputy governorship candidates have stepped down, insisting that Adebiyi Adedapo and Alhaja Muibat Folasade Durojaiye remain its official flagbearers.
The party, in a petition made to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), questioned the authenticity of the alleged documents submitted to effect the candidates’ withdrawal.
NNPP in the petition, said its leadership, under the supervision of Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, neither authorised nor sanctioned any move to alter its established governorship and deputy governorship nominations in the state.
The party also expressed its concerns over the alleged withdrawal documents, including letters, affidavits and signatures purportedly presented in its name, saying their authenticity and proper authorisation remained in doubt.
