The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday launched its South-West presidential campaign for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other party leaders attending the rally in Ado-Ekiti.

The campaign rally, held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, was led by Shettima, alongside the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, governors and other party leaders at the national, zonal and state levels.

The APC is targeting at least 10 million votes for Tinubu across the South-West in the 2027 general election.

Sanwo-Olu, who is the South-West Zonal Coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), attended the rally with his wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, to mobilise support for Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the elections.

The rally attracted serving and former public office-holders, party members and residents of Ekiti State, who gathered at the venue to express support for the President’s re-election bid.

The campaign launch comes days after APC leaders in the South-West initiated moves to reconcile aggrieved members and strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.

The resolution followed a stakeholders’ meeting in Ikeja, Lagos, attended by Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, and former governors Babatunde Fashola, Olusegun Mimiko and Adeniyi Adebayo.

Fashola, who coordinates the South-West Stakeholders Engagement Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, urged party leaders to reach out to members who felt marginalised by previous political contests.
