NAF releases names of 25 victims killed in Ondo aircraft crash (full list)

The Nigerian Air Force has released the names of the five crew members and 20 passengers who died in Monday’s military aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State.

In a statement on Tuesday, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said all 25 people on board the aircraft lost their lives.

According to the Air Force, the aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when the accident occurred.

NAF said search-and-rescue procedures were immediately activated and carried out in coordination with relevant authorities, but no survivors were found.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, expressed condolences to the families of those killed, describing the accident as a deeply painful moment for the Air Force and the country.

Aneke also ordered a comprehensive investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Air Force urged members of the public to avoid speculation and the circulation of unverified information while respecting the privacy of the victims’ families.

NAF also announced that a condolence register had been opened at its headquarters in Abuja for government officials, diplomats, security chiefs and other well-wishers.

President Bola Tinubu had earlier declared three days of national mourning over the crash and directed that flags be flown at half-mast across the country.
