Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have killed two suspected bandits in an ambush along the Adankolo-Apata Road in Kogi State.

The operation, carried out on Saturday by Sector 3 troops, followed intelligence reports about the movement of suspected criminals around Kabba-Bunu and Lokoja Local Government Areas.

According to a statement posted on the Nigerian Army’s X handle, the troops intercepted the suspects along a suspected supply route, forcing them to flee.

A subsequent search of the Adankolo Forest led to the recovery of two bodies believed to be those of the fleeing suspects.

The Force Commander, Operation Whirl Stroke, Major General Moses Gara, commended the troops and urged residents to provide security agencies with useful information.
