The wife of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, Mrs. Temitope Adeola, has called on women of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State to mobilise two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, her husband and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adeola made the call on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the Ogun State Political Women Stakeholders Forum, which brought together female political leaders and party stakeholders to discuss women’s participation and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
She urged APC women to use their influence and numerical strength to expand the party’s support base across the state, stressing that achieving the two-million-vote target would require sustained engagement at the grassroots.
According to her, women must go beyond attending political gatherings and take active responsibility for mobilising eligible voters, promoting informed electoral choices and encouraging peaceful participation in the democratic process.
She challenged each participant to reach out to at least 10 eligible voters, educate them on the importance of voting and encourage them to participate in the 2027 elections.
“Every woman has the capacity to influence her community and contribute to the direction of our society. Imagine the impact if every woman here commits to engaging ten other eligible voters, informing them, encouraging them to participate and helping them make responsible decisions,” she said.
Also speaking, Ogun State First Lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, urged women to translate their numerical strength into effective political mobilisation, describing their ability to organise and influence communities as crucial to electoral success.
She encouraged APC women to move beyond being passive supporters and become active participants in securing electoral victories for the party’s candidates.
“Women must move beyond being passive supporters to becoming active drivers of political success. Our strength is not just in our numbers but in our ability to organise, mobilise and influence our communities,” she said.
Abiodun also urged the women to reach out to at least 10 people each and encourage them to vote for APC candidates, particularly Tinubu and Senator Adeola.
In her remarks, Ogun State Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, commended the Dapo Abiodun administration for its efforts to empower women and promote their participation in governance.
She expressed confidence that Senator Adeola would give greater attention to women’s inclusion if elected governor of Ogun State, while urging APC women to work towards securing victory for all the party’s candidates in the state.
The forum attracted several prominent APC women leaders and political figures, including the party’s deputy governorship candidate in Ogun State, Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun; former deputy governors, Alhaja Salmot Badru and Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga; former Senator Iyabo Anisulowo; and former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Titi Oseni.
Others included the wife of former Ogun State Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Derinsola Osoba, and wife of the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Mrs. Oluremi Salako, alongside other APC women leaders from the state’s three senatorial districts.
