Arise Television presenter Rufai Oseni says voters in Northern Nigeria are dissatisfied with the President Bola Tinubu’s administration, warning that the All Progressives Congress (APC) could face an unexpected outcome in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Monday, October 19 during Arise Television’s The Morning Show, Oseni advised the ruling party against interpreting financial inducements or public displays of political loyalty in the region as genuine electoral support.
"Do not deceive yourself, you see, politicians are the most delusional and the most optimistic people on earth. Because you are giving tonnes of people money in the North, they are shouting your name, they are saying everything is well. Elections will shock you. The North is not happy with this administration," Oseni said.
Addressing potential criticisms regarding his assessment, the broadcaster clarified that his position was informed by public sentiment analysis and ongoing political observations rather than a single empirical survey.
Oseni also questioned the long-term political allegiance of opposition governors who recently defected to the APC following internal crises within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He suggested their alignment with the ruling party stemmed from political convenience rather than ideological conviction, making their complete commitment ahead of 2027 uncertain.
