The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has condoled with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over the deaths of its personnel in an aircraft crash in Ondo State.

NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd.), expressed the agency’s condolences in a letter addressed to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on Wednesday.

Marwa described the crash as devastating, saying the news was received by the agency with “profound grief.”

He commended the Nigerian Air Force for its patriotism, gallantry and commitment to defending the country, stressing that the loss of personnel who dedicated their lives to national service was a major blow to the Air Force and the wider national security community.

“The loss of officers who dedicated their lives to national service is a terrible blow, not only to the Air Force but to the entire country and the national security community,” Marwa said.

He extended the agency’s sympathies to the leadership and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force, as well as the families of those killed in the crash.

“In this moment of deep sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families of the fallen heroes, as well as the entire NAF family,” he said.

The NDLEA boss prayed for comfort and strength for the bereaved families and the Nigerian Air Force, while asking God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

Marwa also assured the Air Force of the solidarity and support of NDLEA officers, men and women as the military mourns the loss.

The aircraft crash occurred in Ondo State, killing NAF personnel and others onboard, according to the NDLEA.
