The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has criticised the All Progressives Congress, APC, after Dayo Israel announced the distribution of brand-new Toyota Prado SUVs to selected youth leaders for election mobilisation, estimating that seven vehicles alone could cost N1.015 billion.
Israel disclosed the distribution in a video caption, saying the vehicles were presented to support the party’s mobilisation activities ahead of the election.
In its response, the NDC put the price of each 2026 Toyota Prado at N145 million and said the cost of seven vehicles amounted to more than N1 billion.
The opposition party accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of asking Nigerians to endure economic hardship while politicians enjoy what it described as lavish spending.

“While the rudderless, clueless, and ruinous administration of President Bola Tinubu has been asking Nigerians to endure the pains of its wicked and cruel reforms, this is how taxpayers’ money is being spent,” the NDC said.
The party called on Nigerians to vote Tinubu’s administration out of power, adding that its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was committed to reducing the cost of governance.
