A man ‘living abroad’ has sparked online conversation after delegating his sister to go down on one knee and propose to his girlfriend on his behalf.

The unique proposal, which has since gone viral, showed the sister holding a ring box and kneeling before the emotional bride-to-be while the groom joined the ceremony via a video call on a smartphone.

While some onlookers praised the creative arrangement as a testament to the groom's intentionality despite the distance, others questioned the unconventional approach to a lifetime commitment.

The bride, visibly overwhelmed by the gesture, accepted the proposal amidst cheers from family members and friends who gathered to witness the proxy event.
