The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, Wilfred Afolabi, has charged police officers to uphold excellence, professionalism, discipline and dedication to duty, stressing that an officer’s true worth is reflected in character and commitment to service.

The Commissioner stated this on Thursday while addressing a delegation of 31 police officers from Abia State, comprising nine females and 22 males of Regular Course 7, who are rounding off their one-year attachment with the Command.

During the interaction, Afolabi congratulated the officers on the successful completion of their attachment and urged them to maintain the highest standards of integrity, hard work and respect for the rule of law throughout their policing careers.

The CP also cautioned the officers against undue pressure and lobbying for preferred postings, urging them to remain flexible and embrace wherever they might be deployed.

He stressed that their loyalty should be to the Nigeria Police Force and the service of the nation rather than personal preferences, adding that they should demonstrate their capabilities wherever duty calls.

Afolabi further reminded the officers that professional excellence was not determined by rank or position but by character, discipline, dedication and the ability to discharge assigned responsibilities effectively.

He wished them success as they concluded their attachment and proceeded to the next phase of their policing careers, urging them to uphold the values and standards of the Nigeria Police Force at all times.
