2027: Wike, Asari Dokubo, Chinda hold closed-door meeting

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Monday received Niger Delta leader Asari Dokubo at his residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Rivers State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, O.K. Chinda, was also at the meeting alongside other political associates of the FCT minister.

Photographs from the gathering showed Wike, Dokubo and Chinda together at the Port Harcourt residence.

Details of their discussions were not immediately disclosed.

The meeting comes amid increasing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections in Rivers State.

Dokubo had earlier pledged his support for Wike and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the polls.

Chinda, meanwhile, is the APC governorship candidate in Rivers State and is politically aligned with Wike.

His political support structure was inaugurated in Port Harcourt at the weekend as mobilisation ahead of the 2027 governorship election intensifies.

No official statement had been issued on whether Monday’s meeting was connected to the 2027 elections at the time of filing this report.
