Hon. Olujuwon Obasanjo, son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
He joined a political movement led by ex-militant leader, Government ‘Tompolo’ Ekpemupolo, on Wednesday.
Olujuwon, who has been appointed Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the PBAT door-to-door movement, made his position known during a visit to the organisation’s headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
He was received by the movement’s National Coordinator, Comrade Sunday Adekanbi, who conducted him round the facility and introduced him to its structure and operations.
Speaking during the visit, Olujuwon described his appointment as an honour and privilege. He commended the movement for its community outreach, humanitarian activities and efforts to promote the Federal Government’s policies and programmes.
He said he had been following the organisation’s activities and was impressed by its work. He expressed his readiness to contribute to the group’s political mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general election.
Olujuwon also urged Nigerians to support Tinubu’s administration to sustain the reforms initiated by the president.
He cited regular payment of salaries, infrastructure development and investment opportunities as areas where he believes the administration has made progress.
He expressed confidence that sustained support for Tinubu would enable the government to build on its achievements and deliver more to Nigerians.
The former president’s son also disclosed that he had been a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2014.
He said members of the Obasanjo family were free to hold different political opinions and pursue their political interests without hostility.
Earlier, Adekanbi welcomed Olujuwon into the movement, describing him as an experienced political figure whose background in leadership and governance would strengthen the organisation’s mobilisation efforts.
He said the movement was pleased to have him on board and expressed confidence that his political experience and understanding would contribute to expanding its activities across the country.
