The Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed the state Commissioner for Education, Senator Professor Stephen Odey, as Director-General of its campaign council for the 2027 general elections.
The party also appointed Architect Etubom Bassey Eyo Ndem as secretary of the campaign council.
The appointments were announced in a press release signed by the state APC Publicity Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Edem Inyang, JP, and dated October 15, 2026 on Thursday, which was sent to THE WHISTLER.
According to the statement, the appointments were made by the leadership of the party in Cross River State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Odey, a former senator who represented Cross River North Senatorial District, currently serves as the state’s Commissioner for Education.
His appointment places him at the head of the party’s campaign council in the state, while Ndem will serve as secretary.
The APC congratulated both appointees and expressed confidence in their leadership abilities, experience and commitment to the party’s ideals.
“The party congratulates the appointees and expresses confidence in their leadership capacity, experience, and commitment to the ideals of the APC,” the statement said.
The appointments come as political parties prepare for the 2027 general elections, with the APC expected to organise its campaign activities and mobilise support for its candidates in Cross River State.
